Hz: Binaural Beats Generator

Fall asleep faster. Focus deeper. No app should charge you monthly for that.

The Problem

Most binaural beats apps are subscription traps. They lock basic features behind a paywall, require an account, and track your usage. You just want to put on some beats and focus (or sleep). It shouldn't cost $50/year.

Hz is the opposite of all that

Hz combines real binaural beat synthesis with beautiful instrument soundscapes. Pick a preset or dial in your own frequencies. Everything runs on your device. There is no account, no subscription, and no tracking. It is completely free.

What you get

  • 5 science-based presets: Deep Sleep, Meditation, Calm Focus, Alert, Peak Focus, each tuned to a specific brainwave range
  • Full control over carrier frequency (100-600 Hz), beat frequency (0.5-50 Hz), and the blend between pure tones and instruments
  • Dynamic soundscapes with automatic chord progressions that evolve so the audio never feels repetitive
  • Load your own SF2/SFZ soundfonts or use the built-in instruments with studio-quality reverb
  • Real-time synthesis with continuous phase. Zero clicks, pops, or interruptions.

How binaural beats work

When you play two slightly different frequencies in each ear, your brain perceives a third tone at the difference between them. For example, 300 Hz in one ear and 310 Hz in the other creates a 10 Hz binaural beat, which falls in the alpha brainwave range associated with relaxation and calm focus.

Why Hz instead of other binaural beats apps?

  • Completely free, forever. No subscription, no "premium tier."
  • No account required. Just open it and press play.
  • Works offline. Everything runs on-device.
  • No tracking or data collection whatsoever.
  • Real synthesis, not looped audio files.
  • Load your own soundfonts for a truly custom experience.

Great for

  • Deep focus during work or study sessions
  • Meditation and mindfulness practice
  • Falling asleep and improving sleep quality
  • Managing stress and anxiety
  • Creative work and brainstorming
